Congratulations

 

Kelsey Stoner with her horseKelsey Stoner (’18 DVM) has recently been named the 2017 recipient of the $45,000 Margaret A. Haines Telephony Scholarship by the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA). Eligible students must have been AQHA members for at least one year and third year veterinary students at an AVMA-accredited school of veterinary medicine at the time of application. Kelsey participated in the WIMU Regional Program, spending her first year of veterinary school at Montana State University and her subsequent three years at Washington State University. In her first three years, Kelsey participated in many equine electives, including colic team, equine neonatal care, equine lameness, advanced equine medicine, and applied comparative reproductive physiology. She also participated in the student ambassador practicum. After graduation, Kelsey plans to pursue specialization in equine sports medicine and surgery.

 

Anne Hutton with her horseAnne Hutton (’18 DVM) has recently been named one of the 2017 recipients of the $75,000 Coyote Rock Ranch Scholarship from the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP). Eligible students must be national AAEP student members and be active within their school’s AAEP chapter, as well as third year veterinary students at an AVMA-accredited school of veterinary medicine at the time of application. Anne participated in the WIMU Regional Program, spending her first year of veterinary school at Montana State University and her subsequent three years at Washington State University. In her first three years, Anne participated in many equine electives, including colic team, equine lameness, advanced equine medicine, and applied comparative reproductive physiology. Anne also participated in the Palouse Area Therapeutic Horsemanship practicum. After graduation Anne plans to pursue specialization in equine lameness, surgery, and rehabilitation.
