Student Success: John Hanlon (WA)

John Hanlon-Fish

John Hanlon is a third-year veterinary student in the WIMU Regional Program at Washington State University, interested in small animal medicine and surgery. Originally from Prosser, Washington, John attended Montana State University where he received a degree in biology and discovered his passion for veterinary medicine. John spends much of his free time fishing, hunting and skiing, making WSU an easy choice. John is the current president of the orthopedics and sports medicine club, is a TA in the clinical simulation lab and participated in the five-week summer orthopedic rotation offered through WSU’s teaching hospital. His experiences and opportunities to this point have made him comfortable and confident in his abilities to graduate with the skills needed to be a great veterinarian. After veterinary school, John plans to pursue further training in surgery and remain in the northwest where he can continue to pursue his outdoor passions.
