Student Success: Breneé Peterson

Brenee Peterson Breneé Peterson (’18 DVM) is a third year veterinary student at Washington State University focusing on food animal medicine. Growing up on a beef cattle ranch in north central Montana, Breneé decided to pursue veterinary medicine to support the agriculture industry. She attended Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana for her undergraduate degree. When it came time to attend veterinary school, the WIMU program through Washington State University attracted her because of the small class size and the hands-on opportunities. After her first year at WSU, Breneé participated in the Northwest Bovine Experience Program where she was able to work on a dairy and learn about the industry. In her spare time, Breneé enjoys playing polo on horseback and photographing wildlife. After graduation, Breneé plans to return to rural Montana where she can practice as a mixed animal veterinarian and work with local ranchers on their production and management decisions.
