Student Success: Dominic Eickert
Dominic Eickert (’17 DVM) is a third year veterinary student at Washington State University with an interest in mixed animal practice. As a senior in high school in his hometown of Kalispell, Montana, Dominic decided to pursue veterinary studies because he wanted a challenging, meaningful career. WSU is a very good fit for him because the small class sizes allow for the transformation from peers into family; and the professors aren’t just instructors, they treat students like colleagues and friends. Being a WSU veterinary student has offered Dominic a plethora of opportunities such as working as an assistant equine technician in the WSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital, being a COLE mentor, and joining the theriogenology, agriculture animal and the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) clubs. After graduation in 2017, Dominic is eager to return to Montana and work in a mixed animal clinic.
