Student Success: Garrett Bronec
Garrett Bronec (’18 DVM) is a third year veterinary student at Washington State University. He grew up on a farm and ranch in Denton, Montana. Garrett first became interested in veterinary medicine helping his dad during calving and participating in 4-H and FFA. Growing up around cattle, horses, dogs, cats, and rabbits, he gained an appreciation for many species and the differences they possess. He received an associate’s degree from Eastern Wyoming College and attended the University of Wyoming before applying for the WIMU program. Garrett attended his first year of veterinary school at Montana State University in Bozeman. As a WSU veterinary student, he is a member of the Ag Animal Club and Theriogenology Club. He is also a member of the Class of 2018 class council serving as a fundraising chair. After graduation, Garrett hopes to return to Montana to work in a rural mixed animal practice and one day own his own practice. In his free time, he enjoys spending time playing basketball and racquetball as well as riding horses and playing with his border collie, Goofy.
