Student Success: McKenna Thompson
McKenna Thompson (’20 DVM) is a third year veterinary student, interested in mixed animal practice. She is from Flagstaff, Arizona where she obtained BS and MS degrees in biomedical sciences and genetics from Northern Arizona University. McKenna firmly cemented her passion for veterinary medicine while working as a veterinary technician in a mixed animal practice. As a WSU veterinary student, she is the treasurer for WSU Veterinary Business Management Association (VBMA) and a student representative for the Nestle Purina Feeding Program. She additionally works in the teaching hospital pharmacy where she is able to interact directly with clinicians, fourth year students, and clients while learning about pharmacology. After graduation, McKenna ultimately plans to have her own mixed animal practice. In her spare time, she enjoys reading with her Pug and cat snuggled next to her, running with her German Shepherd, and taking long drives with her husband, Luke.
